Save the West End in Dauphin Island, AL

Save the West End Beach from erosion caused from dredging, hurricanes, natural and non-natural occurrences.
The West End beach is eroding at an alarming rate and is home to several habitats: sea turtle nests, fox dens, bird sanctuary, and several sea life.
This is an environmental disaster and no one is helping this small slice of paradise, termed the Sunset Capital.
Dauphin Island is a vacationers paradise located in the Southern Tip of Alabama. Families have been vacationing on Dauphin Island for years and it’s a true Southern Gem!
Dauphin Island is a barrier island with a thriving ecosystem and very vulnerable shoreline. Since the late 1950’s residence and owners on the West End of Dauphin Island, AL have been battling to have the West End beach restored and renourished to save not only the land and properties, but also the habitats. Time is not on the side of the West End, with every passing year the shore line is thinning and property is already under the Gulf of Mexico. We need to be the Change to #savedauphinisland and make sure that the funding reaches the West End Restoration. This is not political, nor against any group- it is purely to save the West! We have funded enough research in the area and need to proactively begin efforts to restore it. Enough waiting! Let’s pull together and restore and Save Dauphin Island West End!!
Please be part of the Change.
