DART is proposing a second rail alignment called D2. It will come from Downtown into Deep Ellum to connect to the existing Green Line. The main intersections affected will be Good Latimer at Main and Elm. The placement of the rail line through Downtown has been highly discussed and addressed, however Deep Ellum has not been given the same attention. Half of the proposed route is already a subway, but the entire route needs to go underground!

The consequences of keeping the current route would be disastrous for Deep Ellum. Imagine the major traffic congestion at Main and Elm with an additional line running every seven minutes. Or how this will affect economic development in our district over the next fifty years. Let alone the history that is being repeated by putting Deep Ellum on the other side of the tracks from the Central Business District.  

DART, the DART Board, and Dallas City Council need to know that the Deep Ellum community does not support the proposed route and wants a subway. Please sign this petition to show your support for a subway through Downtown and Deep Ellum.
