Help my documentary team film the infamous Dudleytown

The Issue

My name is Erik Kenniston, a senior communications and film major at UConn. More importantly though, I am a Cornwall, CT native, born and raised (specifically Clark Hill Rd off Bunker Hill). In my final year of college I am completing two short films for my major, one documentary and one fiction narrative. For the documentary project, I would love nothing more than to have the opportunity to research and discuss Dudleytown, the infamous and supposedly haunted village that lies in the hills of Cornwall. Like many others in the area, Dudleytown has always been a subject of pure fascination for me since I was a kid. One of my fondest memories of growing up in Cornwall was in the fourth grade when The Dark Entry Forest Association granted us access to the otherwise forbidden village for a field trip. If I am allowed to do this project, my goal or "angle" if you will, would be to shed light on the TRUE history as well as the myth of Dudleytown (with the generous help of the Cornwall Historical Society). Perhaps more importantly though, I would also like to hear the Dark Entry Forest Association's side of the story and how the myth and all the trespassers into Dudleytown have effected their lives in Cornwall as well as their privacy. I am fully aware how countless others have disrespected their land and privacy in order to exploit a ghost story in the past. That is not my motive, and I would be willing to prove that to them by any means necessary. One idea that I had would be that when the film is complete, I would give it to The Dark Entry Forest Association (and perhaps the historical society) to use as a PSA or something legitimate to inform the public. To conclude, all my crew and I really want is to have the opportunity to make the definitive and legitimate documentary on a famous place from my hometown that has been continuously bastardized by myth, trespassers, and the internet to the point where the private owners have been forced to isolate themselves and forbid access to their land in order to protect themselves and their privacy.
