Currently, the University of Central Florida is being represented by a knight. The Knight of Pegasus was chosen as the official mascot by student voters in 1971. The university should be represented by something that is more relevant to central Florida and not something students thought was cool in 1971. Norman Van Meter, who designed the Citronaut and UCF's Pegasus symbol, had the right idea when he combined two of central Florida's main industries into one quirky character. 

Squeezer, the citrus astronaut, would seamlessly be integrated into our space themed school. It would take us from a very generic mascot to one that would make the students proud and undoubtedly increase school spirit.
