Danimals: Please Use Real Animals In Your Yoghurt

The Issue

nat·u·ral (adj.)

ˈnaCH(ə)rəl/

1. existing in or caused by nature; not made or caused by humankind.
"carrots contain a natural antiseptic that fights bacteria"

Panera is doing it. Chipotle is doing it. Even Kraft Foods Group is getting in on the natural trend. It seems as if almost every food brand is making the move to natural ingredients. Some even wash their hands of Genetically Modified Organisms entirely, stripping them from the shelves. "Natural" seems to be the new "Kony 2012," to everyone. Everyone, except: Danimals, that is.

Danimals has longwithstandingly been criticized for having an ingredients list longer than the Old Testament three times over. Despite this, it remains a widely consumed product. Bongo, the enthusiastic monkey featured on every yoghurt they produce, has become something of a household name. I am one one of these consumers myself, and never paid attention to what exactly I was consuming. That is, until one day when I was composedly drinking the "Swingin' Strawberry Banana" and realized that something felt...off. I did some quick research and discovered that there is, in actuality, no monkey in "Swinging' Strawberry Banana."

So now I speak now directly to Dannon: to feature Bongo on the cover of your D"animal"s products without including primate meat is not only misleading but also a promotion of erroneous idolotry.

I am a daughter; I am a sister; I am a woman. And I deserve to live in a world where we keep the "animal" in "Danimals;" without that, all we're left with is Ds, and I'd be disillusioned to live in a world with that grade.
