Save the Animal Welfare League from closing its clinic in Chicago Ridge

The Issue

Dear Congressman Lipinski,

I am writing to request your help in saving the Animal Welfare League from closing its clinic in Chicago Ridge, Illinois which is used to treat animals at both that facility and AWL’s second facility at 6224 South Wabash Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. I and many other residents of the South Side and Southwest Suburban area rely upon the Animal Welfare Leagues facilities for affordable veterinarian service and discounted pet needs. The closing of these facilities will remove the only free and discounted services provided to animals in these areas.

For 83 years, the Animal Welfare League has been providing both shelter and care for abandoned and abused animals throughout the South Side and South Suburban area of Chicago. Today, this organization is under attack by a handful of outside interests who are determined to see these clinics closed. I am one of the thousands of Chicago-area citizens who actually rely upon the Animal Welfare League for the services they provide to my pets and to abandoned and abused animals. I am writing to voice my confidence in the staff and leadership of the Animal Welfare League.

Please support the thousands of pet owners and thousands of abandoned and abused animals that are served every year by the Animal Welfare League. Please take the time visit the facilities, speak to staff and leadership and learn firsthand how important the services are that the League provides to the citizens of the South Side and South Suburban Chicago.

Sincerely yours,
