Dear Mayor Hayes,

We are a group of concerned and informed members of the public. We have done our research on 5G and have grave concerns about the health implications for our families, loved ones and the environment and we are demanding that public health and safety be prioritized. 

The greatest of these health concerns are the potential health impacts from the increase in electromagnetic field exposure (EMF) that these new 5G towers will bring. There is a growing body of evidence regarding the association between EMF exposure and cancer as well as other chronic health conditions. In fact, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) recently raised the classification of cell phone radiation from “possible” to “probable” carcinogen.

The FCC hasn't updated standards for wireless safety since 1996. Recent studies done by the National Toxicology Program/National Institutes of Health (NTP/NIH) display that there is already a casual link between cell phone signals and cancer after animal testing on lab rats. The construction of 5G towers, that are more powerful technology than what is already currently believed by researchers such as Dr. Ronald Melnick PHD and Dr. John Bucher(Senior Scientist of the NTP) to be carcinogenic, is currently underway. The American Cancer Society has already acknowledged the studies and  uncertainty over whether RF waves from cellular phones are carcinogenic. 

This petition was created to prevent the construction of these 5G towers and have further research done on the carcinogenic nature of RF waves by the FDA and FCC. Updated information regarding heavily implemented technology should be common knowledge to U.S. citizens and especially in the state of New Jersey given that these towers are already being implemented here.

We want to protect our parks in Bridgewater, our open spaces. What better way to protect its wildlife and the health of its citizens then by stopping this harmful 5G radiation rollout right in our community. Please stand with us to protect our health Mayor Hayes.
