Minister Damien O'Connor has deemed routine farrier services as non essential, this is unacceptable.  Farrier services are an essential part of horse care and overall horse welfare without it many horses will suffer with vet services being required. 

I propose for more stringent guidelines around the undertaken of shoeing to maintain social distancing such as not holding horses, allowing farriers to attend horses without the owner present, the use of gloves, hand washes and hand sanitizers which I am sure all will be happy to adhere to.

 Please sign for the good of all our horses! Make the minister see sense through our share numbers, our horses need our farriers!
