Tonight at 7pm at Methodist Hospital's Hitt Auditorium at Bishop and Colorado, Alamo Manhattan will present their latest drawings for their development at Davis and Zang. Please come. Also, after a lengthy debate for the past month, the Old Oak Cliff Conservation League voted at an emergency Board meeting last night to focus exclusively on only 3 things in our attempt to amend PD 830; height, lot size and residential proximity slope. We want to focus on things that many of us agree on and that few would have opposition to. Whatever Alamo Manhattan presents tonight, it will more than likely still be 5-stories tall. This scale is too large and threatens the character of our area. Unlimited lot size encourages the assembly of as many small parcels of land with single family homes as you can acquire because that's how wide your building can be. Buildings that are a city block wide or long are out of scale for us. 5 story tall buildings are out of place in an area hard pressed to find a building over 2 stories tall. This height of building is out of scale for us. A residential proximity slope of 1:1 vs the 3:1 ratio found throughout the rest of the city presses these excessive structures up next to a single family home in an intrusive fashion that diminishes that homeowner's quality of life. The character of our area has been a positive for us thus far. We've been growing in a methodical and organic fashion but without being destructive. Your gift can be anonymous and is tax deductible. Thank you. www.gofundme.com/bishopdavis
