A published apology from the Daily Telegraph
The issue
Today an infographic was published in the Australian Daily Telegraph. It was used to show negative behaviours and health issues for Australian youth. The image represented same-sex attraction as a negative along with the other images. I am asking that the Daily Telegraph apologise for using same sex attraction in this way. Same-sex attracted youth are some of the most marginalised in our community and they suffer high levels of depression and anxiety. This infographic will do nothing but hurt innocent youth and it sends an incorrect message to the public that there is something wrong with being same-sex attracted. Redacting this offensive piece of the infographic and an apology can in part undo some of the harm already done by this piece of publication.
