Comments section on articles are giving trolls a platform to write vile, disgusting and damaging opinions about anyone the article relates to, with no consequences. These comments aren’t moderated in advance, or filtered out to not be seen by anyone - they are there to be viewed by all. In a world where Mental Health is SO important, and social media platforms take this seriously - why is there no option to report these trolls like there is elsewhere? They create profiles that enables them to make said comments, and with no repercussions. This needs to be stopped. Daily mail needs to close this element of their online newspaper, or input blockers that stop trolls having their say and affecting so many people with their words. Online bullying cannot be tolerated in ANY sense of the word, and we cannot allow people to hide behind keyboards and abuse the ‘freedom of speech’ term.
