Remember the animal abuse registry law that passed in 2015?? Well, after initially being charged with 27 felony counts of animal fighting, Davis will not even be listed on the TBI registry now. That law only applies to offenders *convicted* of a felony, and the DA has offered to let him plead to misdemeanor animal cruelty in this case.

We don't know all of the details about why this decision was made. But we do know that Davis will serve no jail time for his dogfighting charges, and Nashville taxpayers will receive hardly any financial restitution for the cost of vet care and boarding for 27 dogs. We also know that this man will not be listed on the public database for animal abusers that was created specifically for the purpose of protecting animals from people with a history of horrific cruelty.
