Request for a Solid Railway network between Mangalore-Bangalore. Improving the standards of Mangalore (South- Western Railway) railway Zone.
The Issue
To:
D.V.Sadananda Gowda
Honr. Union Railway Minister
Government of India.
As Our Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi ji said in one of his Election campaign rallies held in Mangalore months back “The Real Potential of this Coastal City need to be unleashed be it Banking, Port, Education sector, IT , Tourism, Fishing or Human Resources this city has a real meal to explore”. Quite good to hear and we hope that our new government will work its best to bring out those dreams but topping of all these and the important issue lacks behind for this region is transport specially long distance travel facilities and more specially Train network.
Being a major and one of the fastest developing cities in south india Mangalore contributes lots to indian economy in various sectors and also on IT field , but it lacks a strong railway connectivity when Compared to City’s like Hubli, Coimbatore, Kochin, Vijayawada and Gulbarga etc. Mangalore has very less train lines. It has direct trains only to mysore and Bangalore inside Karnataka that too very less in numbers. Thanks to the Konkan Railways which has given a boost of Oxygen between Mumbai-Mangalore-Kerala. At least we have something to cheer for because of that.
As almost 40% of Mangalorean origin people work in various companies in Bangalore and most of the business in need of ,the City needs a greater and faster connectivity with state capital for the improvisation in all sectors, it would a be a greatest favor for them if there is a high speed and regular network between these two cities. It will have a direct impact on Tread, Tourism and overall development of this region and communication between two IT hubs. If the government is keen on high-speed trains, it would have to ensure laying of a line to Bangalore via Nandikur, Karkala, Ujire, Charmadi and Mudigere. The line could be linked to the Sakleshpur-Kadur line, which is under construction. Another new link line from Mudigere to Belur could provide a track that could take high-speed trains between Mangalore and Bangalore.
One more thing we request you is the uplifting the standards of the Mangalore railway zone within South- western railway zone and a direct track n gauge improvement with Hubli City. At present we don’t have Direct or Regular railway link with Hubli .It would be great if in your tenure of five years if you work on establishing a stronger network between these two cities as Hubli lies in middle of Karnataka and middle of a geographical area which consists of cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad. This action will ensure greater connectivity between all south indian cities in all directions and with Mumbai and Pune.
We wish all the best to you and to the New Government. We had and have the confidence on the son of this soil Mr.DVS. A stronger Railway network for this region is the demand of many years for the people out here. You will be remembered for decades if you work on the wish of people and definitely this project will have a positive impact on all improvisation aspects for the development of this region as well as State, of course in turn for the nation on the larger extent.
Looking forward for your early action,
Faithfully
