Make Local Yarn Shops A Essential Service

0 have signed. Let’s get to 15,000!

Please allow all retail and wholesale yarn shops/suppliers to trade as an essential service during the lockdown.

Knitting and crochet have proven therapeutic benefits, especially in helping with your mental state of mind (depression).

It’s also an important part of sustaining our community during the winter months through providing handmade blankets, scarfs, mittens etc. Many a knitter or crocheter also assist in providing baby knitwear for premature babies, and teddy bears for abused children.

Most of our knit-wits need to stock up on yarn to start their charity knitting projects for winter.
Just as important as feeding the hungry - is keeping our children and families warm.

Local Yarn Shops can easily practice social distancing as not many people frequent these shops at the same time. Shopping can be done via appointment / certain amount of customers per sqm of the shop space / home delivery / courier services.

The UK is currently allowing their local yarn shops to continue trade during this time, under strict social distancing measures.
Please support us in signing the petition and getting the support of government in making this an important essential service.

Please sign and spread far and wide!!
