Appoint Thuli Madonsela as the head of the National Prosecuting Authority.

On 8 December 2017, Judge president Dunstan Mlambo‚ ordered that Deputy President (and now ANC President) Mr Cyril Ramaphosa must appoint a new National Director of Public Prosecution (NDPP) within 60 days.

The appointment of Thuli Madonsela as NDPP would clearly demonstrate Mr Ramaphosa's commitment to tackling corruption.  Thuli Madonsela has a proven track record and has the trust of the vast majority of South Africans. As Public Protector,  Thuli Madonsela was extremely competent, thoroughly professional,  impartial and resilient. She demonstrates all the critical competencies required of an effective NDPP.

As such, we call upon the Deputy President, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa, to appoint Thuli Madonsela as the new National Director of Public Prosecution.

By doing so, Mr Ramaphosa would clearly demonstrate his commitment to fighting corruption. He would earn the respect and support of millions of South Africans from all sides of the political and economic spectrum and would bring hope to a country desperately in need of some.
