Greetings, I hope all is well, just want to take this time to say "Thank You" I know this may not be the place for this, but it was put on and in my heart so I'm going to say it anyway. Yesterday was Easter; and while it was a beautiful day it was a somber one too. I come from a very big family, and Easter is one of our biggest family holidays. We gather together after Easter Sunday service, and we have one feast of an Easter dinner with all the fixings. It has been a tradition in our family since I was a kid; that every Easter our family has an Easter egg hunt in the back yard. Needless to say it is a blast for the kids to be outside running around searching for Easter eggs. It saddens me to say that there was one less child at our families annual Easter egg hunt this year. We had one less Easter basket to pass out as the children gathered in line to get their Easter baskets. Tamir Rice was that child that was missed so dearly at the dinner table. My heart yearned to see his face, those big bright eyes that would shine so bright when he found an Easter egg, the sight of his victory dance when he would bet one of his cousin running in the bunny hop relay. All of this has been taken away from our family, Tamir's mother, his brother and two sisters; he didn't even get the opportunity to see his niece's first Easter. No more pictures with the family on holidays, how do we deal with the loss of such innocence. The Cleveland police and their consistent disregard for public safety, by allowing officers like Timothy Loehmann and Frank Gramback to be hired without checking their personnel history continues to put the safety of our community as risk. The officers that killed Tamir Rice remain on administrative leave; after killing a 12 year old child playing in a park where is the justification in that. How do we rest knowing that Tamir Rice is not at rest? He was murdered! We as a community have to get upset at the way the police are policing our communities, we are all at risk for being shot dead in the street at any given moment by an officer that's having a bad day. Will you be next? Somebody you know and love? Will it be someone elses child? A 10 year old? How many more officers like Timothy Loehmann and Frank Gramback work for the Cleveland Police Department? When will it end? Will you HELP?
