We, the undersigned current and former guests of Lawrence Community Shelter, are calling on the Board of Directors to hold a vote of no confidence regarding the Executive Director and HR Director. As individuals who have experienced the shelter firsthand, we believe serious concerns warrant immediate, independent review, including concerns regarding guest safety, treatment and dignity, communication, access to services, staff accountability, emergency preparedness, and the overall management and operation of the shelter.

We are not asking the Board to accept every allegation without investigation. We are asking the Board to take the experiences and concerns of current and former guests seriously, listen to those directly affected, independently review the facts, and provide a transparent process through which these concerns can be fairly evaluated. People seeking shelter deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, and the community deserves confidence that the shelter is providing a safe and responsibly managed environment.

By signing below, I am calling on the Lawrence Community Shelter Board of Directors to conduct an independent review of concerns raised by current and former guests and to hold a vote of no confidence regarding the Executive Director and HR Director.
