Culver City Residents Deserve Fair Access to Jumper Rentals in City Parks
Culver City Residents Deserve Fair Access to Jumper Rentals in City Parks
The Issue
Culver City families rely on local parks to celebrate birthdays, school events, and community gatherings. However, the current city policy requiring $3 million in liability insurance for inflatable jumper rentals in Culver City parks has unintentionally created an unfair situation for residents and small businesses.
Because of this requirement, only one rental company currently carries the required insurance, which means families have almost no choice when renting a jumper for park events. As a result, residents are often charged significantly higher prices for the exact same equipment that other licensed and insured local businesses provide at much lower cost.
This policy hurts:
Culver City families, who are forced to pay inflated prices
Local small businesses, who are unable to compete
Fair marketplace competition
Many reputable inflatable rental companies carry $1 million to $2 million liability policies, which are standard in the industry and widely accepted by parks and municipalities across California.
We respectfully ask the City of Culver City to review and revise the insurance requirement for inflatable rentals in city parks so that multiple qualified, licensed, and insured local companies can operate.
Our goal is simple:
✔ Allow fair competition
✔ Support local small businesses
✔ Give Culver City families more affordable options
We love our community and simply want policies that are fair, competitive, and accessible for everyone.
Please review this policy and consider updating the insurance requirement so that multiple safe and insured vendors can serve Culver City residents.
We ask Culver City to:
Review the current $3 million insurance requirement.
Consider allowing vendors with $1M–$2M liability policies, which are industry standard.
Allow multiple licensed and insured vendors to operate in Culver City parks.
