Since the 1960s, Cuba has faced many issues regarding the U.S. embargo. They have overcome some hardships but continue to face more as of now. When the embargo was put by the U.S., Cuba’s economy, healthcare, culture, and more were all affected in different ways, most of which were negative. When the U.S. and Cuba’s relationship took a turn, Cuba sought support from the Soviet Union. The U.S. responded by cutting off trade with Cuba. This significantly impacted them because they relied on the U.S. for many things like important goods, technology, medicine, and more. The U.S. also controlled its resources like sugarcane and tobacco. Cuba heavily relies on other countries for resources making it difficult for them to function on its own. If nothing is done about this issue, Cuba will remain on edge and will suffer more from their current issues. 

Signing this petition to lift the embargo will support the Cubans significantly. It will allow them to access things they couldn’t before. Lifting the embargo could also be beneficial to both countries for economic growth and more opportunities.
