With multiple shootings occurring this year, students are fearful of their safety on and off campus. The University has shown a lack of care by providing little to no information about any of these incidents. We need a protocol that ensures communication of any potential threats to the student body, of ANY incident regardless of the occurrence of injury. The top priority of the University should be protecting its students and currently the school has failed to do so. We hope that CUPD, BPD, and CU will work together to promptly inform students of imminent threats. Our proposition is to ask the university to extend their safety alert system to at least a 2 mile off campus radius. We are holding CU Boulder accountable and hope that they will respect these requests.
