The bus along Elston Ave. was discontinued in 1997 due to low ridership. Given this decision was made nearly 20 years ago, I believe it is time for CTA to reevaluate how a bus line here could help the community. Growth along Addison and in the Avondale area is great for the city, but without a convenient bus route residents along Elston are forced to take multiple buses to get to their destinations. Also, with increasing ridership, a bus line along a street that cuts through much of the city would be a great improvement for transportation ease. I believe a new, reinstated bus route along Elston Ave would be helpful for residents and business owners within Jefferson Park, Albany Park, Irving Park, Avondale, Bucktown, and even into Noble Square and the Loop.
