Today, CSUN students and alumni received an email from the university stating that graduates from the Class of 2020 and 2021 will now be having an online/virtual-fashioned commencement in May of 2021 due to the pandemic of Covid-19. This announcement comes with deep sadness to a lot of students and alumni as a lot of us were looking forward to an in-person ceremony in due time when it would become safe enough to hold one. We are upset, hurt, saddened, and wish we could have a say in this decision. A graduation ceremony represents a lot, but at the simplest it is representative of our journey and hard work. We deserve an in-person graduation and more importantly we deserve to have a say in this!
