Amy D started this petition to Croydon council

At the beginning of lockdown Croydon Council, without any prior warning, put a number of ‘temporary’ road blocks in place throughout South Norwood. Their original claim was this was to help improve social distancing. However, I have since received notice they plan to put even more in place without any consultation and have hopes to make these permanent. Further, they now claim these changes are to encourage people to walk and cycle.
As I resident of South Norwood I have seen and experienced how this has impacted our community, including, but not restricted to:

- Emergency vehicles being unable to get to addresses proficiently.

- Making it harder for vulnerable people who live on the impacted roads to get around and therefore isolating them.

- Causing larger amounts of traffic and congestion throughout the rest of the area.

I therefore petition Croydon Council to put stop further plans to implement more road blocks and hold a consultation and vote with the local community to scrap the existing ones.
