Thunder in the Valley is one of the biggest fireworks shows in Western Canada! It has been hosted in the beautiful Crowsnest Pass during Rum Runner Days in mid July, presented and organized by the Blairmore Fire Dept and many other volunteers, for approximately 19 years now. It is a HUGE success! Thousands of people worldwide have traveled to the Pass to experience this phenomenon that can only be described as something you must experience and see with your own eyes! It is the biggest weekend for the Crowsnest Pass because it draws in so many people, also our local businesses thrive off of the money that comes in during this time.

Here comes the punch line: this year, the council of the Crowsnest Pass voted to CANCEL Thunder in the Valley. I, for one, am not willing to let this happen without doing what I can to change the final outcome. The Crowsnest Pass will suffer severely without this amazing attraction to bring business and tourists into our town.

There are many different actions that we could take in order to make Thunder in the Valley possible. Let us put our ideas together to form possibilities and answers to the dilemmas and complications the council is facing, causing them to vote against having Thunder in the Valley this year!! The first step is to be proactive and voice our opinions! We can do this, people! This is the first step! Let us do whatever we can as citizens of the Crowsnest Pass to stand together in order to BRING BACK THUNDER IN THE VALLEY 2012!!!!!!
