Dear friends,
Yesterday, Catherine Adams was scheduled to be sentenced in Hanna provincial court. However, apparently the judge was emotional (angry) to the extent she felt it better to adjourn to a later date for sentencing. Also, according to an article in the Hanna Herald, the judge wants "to ensure she properly factored in the sentencing in B.C. to determine, from a legal standpoint, if Adams was a first or second-time offender based on the letter of the law." What the judge did say, however, is that "This is not a situation where you get a discharge," in response to Catherine Adams' suggestion her sentence should amount to community service. Thank you to the judge for taking the time and making the effort to ensure she gets this sentence right! Catherine Adams' next court date is scheduled for November 2 at 1:00pm, Drumheller Provincial Courthouse.
