Just yesterday, a father was robbed of his entire family in yet another heart-wrenching incident at this crossing. The cruel reality is that too many lives have been lost at this crossing (R312 and R304) and it stands testament to the urgent need for proper traffic regulation.

Local newspaper headlines and eyewitness accounts affirm the danger that this crossing poses. Despite public outcry, we lack even essential traffic calming measures such as a traffic light and a permanent speed camera.

As a community, we cannot stand by as more lives are claimed by this notorious crossing.
