With little notice to anyone concerned, people are in shock at plans to build a stadium on Crossford Bridge Playing Fields announced by Sale Sharks! A safe haven used by so many people, from locals and schools, to Sale United Football Club, Sale Harriers and Old Alts. The negative impact of these plans would be immense, not only to the people who use it but to the wildlife, environment and surrounding area.

Generations of my family and I have grown up and lived in the Crossford Bridge area and it would be nothing short of heartbreaking to see such a place disappear!

Hundreds of football players of all ages from Sale United use the pitches and there would not be space to share. Sale Harriers running club have been using the space since 1951 with large groups meeting throughout each week. Regular cricket matches are held there and the local Springfield Primary School is fortunate enough to use the facilities.

There are so many reasons not to go ahead with such a plan which has been, quite frankly, underhanded from the start.

Please help by signing the petition and long may there be green space at Crossford Bridge.

Sharing your concerns via email, letter, etc with Trafford Council will also be a great way to get your voice heard and will only further support this cause.

There will also be a consultation held from 22nd June until 13th July 2020 accessible at www.crossfordbridge.co.uk the new website for the proposal led by Crossford Futures, who are funded by and share Directors with Sale Sharks! So please do share your concerns.

Thankyou so much
