The story behind this petition is so long & heartbreaking. But I know if I start from the very beginning, it'll be just too much to read. But heres OUR STORY. 

My mother in law had a convicted violent felon boyfriend who was released from prison in September of last year. By December, everything came crashing down. There was an altercation between my husband and his mom's boyfriend over my husband wanting his tools back. The boyfriend sticks a knife to my husband's back & threatens his life all while my husband (jeff)'s mother stood there and watched. My father intervened and we called the police. The boyfriend was arrested that night. Even though he was on parole, he was also bonded out the same night. The VERY NEXT EVENING, child protective services show up at our door. My mother in law told them we were sexually exploiting our children online, said there was domestic violence between jeff & I, drug use and that we beat the kids. 

We debunked ALL the allegations. They spoke to us and spoke to the children alone and everything checked out. CPS said they would come out one more time and close the case. My mother-in-law caught wind that the case was about to be closed and she called and made an anonymous report to CPS telling them that we were sexually trafficking our children. We know this because she was bragging about it to some of her other kids and because we accidentally found her name on the clipboard behind all of the CPS paperwork. Due to the severity of the accusations CPS had to investigate us further and it prolonged our open case that was almost closed. CPS ALSO STATED THAT THE SECOND REPORT WOULD NOT PROLONG THE CASE FROM THE FIRST REPORT AND IT DID. because of the vicious accusations she made, my children had to endure verbal AND physically INVASIVE exams on their private areas to prove our innocence. Although we are relieved that it's going to clear our name and prove that our children have been unharmed - we're also EXTREMELY angry that our children had to suffer the exams just because my mother in law was retaliating for having her boyfriend arrested. We live in the small town of Morganton, NC. IF THERE ISNT A LAW AGAINST MALICIOUS REPORTING WE WANT ONE NOW! the mother in law has stated multiple times that she's not going to stop calling. We showed the proof of that to CPS. We are currently waiting on our last visit to sign off on all the paperwork to get this case closed, but afterwards, I want to press charges on my mother in law for every single moment of torture she put my husband and I and more importantly OUR CHILDREN through. I will be RELENTLESS! I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THERE'S A LAW TO PREVENT MALICIOUS REPORTING LIKE THIS!

much to my surprise, someone commented under the group I shared this petition in and found the penal code stating it is in fact Illegal to make false allegations to emergency resources, especially out of retaliation. After being proven wrong one time, the children shouldn't have had to suffer the examinations just because a scandalous, vicious and spiteful woman wanted vengeance for her boyfriend! 

You don't have to donate, a signature can make a world of difference. If you want to donate, that's fine too. Because we will be working with an attorney to take this woman down for the trouble she caused our family. I'm hoping that the signatures will help other victims to these awful crimes, or potentially even prevent it from happening. I was lucky enough to have people to help us through this, and to help us get the attorney. some other people may not be as lucky. I'm hoping for changes to be made to this corrupt system as soon as possible! My mother in law is an awful person all together, but CPS still entertaining every report her or her friends make against us at this point is making me believe that they're not happy about this petition, calling some of them out. Violation of my first amendment rights to Freedom of Speech!
