As an animal rescuer, I'm confronted daily by the heartbreaking reality of overcrowded shelters and rescues bursting at the seams. We can change this by enacting laws that criminalize backyard breeding. Implementing stricter regulations and penalties for unlicensed breeding will help ensure that all animals are bred in humane conditions and reduce overpopulation. By holding breeders accountable, we can ensure that only responsible, ethical breeding practices are conducted, protecting countless animals from exploitation and neglect.
