Release My Innocent Brother Kory Darty (Free KD).

Release My Innocent Brother Kory Darty (Free KD).
The Issue
Please accept this request for your assistance in signing this petition for my innocent brother’s release. I pray you will accept these facts as I’m searching for assistance, to prove that my brother Kory Darty is innocent of these false charges. My brother was wrongfully convicted over ten years ago and is serving time at the state prison in Lancaster, CA. Kory and his co-defendant were accused of a shooting that took place in an apartment complex In Sacramento, CA at a store inside of an apartment complex which resulted in a teen being shot.
The prosecution’s star witness admitted in the 2008 trial he was unable to identify Kory as the shooter and later recanted his story. This witness also stated the night of the shooting he could identify the shooter from the light generated by the muzzle flashes from the gun. This is what was used to convict Kory on. Also, the police officers filed false reports and paid off witnesses to testify against Kory. Despite no direct physical evidence tying Kory to the four counts of attempted murder, he was still convicted and taken to trial on all counts and sentenced to 50 years to life. (Activity Number: CD CRAR 2008-0061560)
Some other facts in his case include one witness stated the suspect was a tall and thin black male with long dreadlocks which Kory never wore before. There was evidence that the shooter dropped a dark color hoodie near the scene, which was collected by law enforcement. Kory requested that the hoodie be tested for his DNA. To my knowledge this hoodie hasn’t been tested to this present day. it was reported that several guns were used at the shooting. However, casings from .25 caliber and .380-caliber were found at the crime scene. Ballistic testing was done on the casings and no fingerprints were found on them. A .9mm handgun was recovered from Kory’s residence which no .9mm casings were found at the crime scene. Kory’s co-defendant was also arrested and identified as the second shooter, but later charges were dropped against him. After further investigation, it was determined that the co-defendant was working during the shooting. Also, the star witness mailed a letter to Kory in 2010 stating that the police officers made him sign fake papers stating that Kory was the shooter which is not true. Now that corrupt cops are being exposed for who they really are, several of the witnesses who gave statements against Kory are now cooperating and willingness to come forward with the truth.
My brother’s health has declined tremendously since being incarcerated. For the last ten years, he’s been going back and forth to many different doctors and as of today, he still hasn’t been properly diagnosed. Please help my brother by signing this petition requesting his release due to his wrongful conviction.
Thank you for your love and support.
Respectfully,
Stephanie McGee
