Cricket is not just a sport in our region—it carries immense political and emotional significance. For years, India has suffered from Pakistan-backed cross-border terrorism, from the 26/11 attacks to ongoing violence in Kashmir. Thousands of innocent lives have been lost, and the threat continues.

By playing against Pakistan in international tournaments, the Pakistani cricket board (PCB) earns significant revenue through broadcasting rights, sponsorships, and ICC funding. These profits indirectly support a state that has been accused of funding and sheltering terrorist organizations. India’s refusal to play bilateral series with Pakistan is a step in the right direction, but it is not enough. Participating in multi-nation events like the Asia Cup 2025 still grants Pakistan legitimacy and financial gains.

We urge the ICC, IOC, and all international sports bodies to suspend Pakistan from cricket and other international sports until it takes real, proven steps to end its support for terrorism.
