Credit Acceptance Borrowers Deserve Clear Notice About Settlement Relief
The Issue
I made this video because people started oversimplifying something that is actually very serious. What happened on September 17 matters, and consumers deserve to understand what it means in plain language, not through half-answers, rumors, or confusion.
Not every Credit Acceptance borrower automatically qualifies for relief, and that distinction matters. People should not be left trying to determine for themselves whether their account is included in relief that could significantly affect their finances.
The concern is not only whether notice is provided. It is whether that notice is clear enough for everyday consumers to understand exactly what applies to their account.
A borrower should not have to search social media, interpret legal language, or make assumptions about whether they still owe money, whether payments should continue, or what will happen to their credit reporting.
That confusion can have real consequences for families already dealing with high car payments, repossession concerns, credit damage, and financial hardship.
That is why I am calling for eligible Credit Acceptance borrowers to receive clear, direct, and timely notice explaining what relief applies to their specific account.
That communication should explain, in plain language:
Whether the borrower qualifies for debt relief.
What happens next.
Whether payments must continue.
Whether any remaining balance will be eliminated.
What consumers should expect regarding credit reporting.
And where they can verify their status or get accurate answers.
Notice should also be delivered in more than one way, including mail, email, and text when contact information is available, so consumers are less likely to miss information that could materially affect their finances.
If an account qualifies for debt relief and no further payments are owed, that message should be direct and impossible to misunderstand.
Consumers should not have to fight for basic clarity about their own auto loan accounts.
If relief is available, people deserve to understand exactly what that means for them and what they need to do next.
Please sign this petition and help call for clear, responsible, and accessible communication for every eligible Credit Acceptance borrower.
