There have been plenty of days when I've felt the weight of the world upon me, consumed by stress or tinged with sorrow. Yet, driving down Rockwall Street towards Moore Street, there was always a beacon of hope – JT, standing tall in his cowboy hat and black cowboy outfit, waving, singing, and dancing with a smile that could light up the darkest day. JT wasn't just a fixture in our town of Terrell, Texas; he was a force of nature, lifting our spirits and reminding us of the joy in everyday life.

JT's presence was a testament to community and resilience. It's not just one moment that defines his impact, but countless moments where he made a difference for everyone who passed by. His laughter was infectious, his kindness unparalleled. With his spirit in mind, we propose to honor JT through the creation of 'JT Corner' at the corner of Moore and Rockwall Streets. This memorial will serve not only as a tribute to a beloved community member but as a place of remembrance for future generations who deserve to know about the joy and unity he brought to Terrell.

We are asking the City of Terrell and the City Council to collaborate with JT’s family, friends, and community supporters in establishing a permanent memorial and statue in his honor. It will be a space that keeps his memory alive, where stories of his generosity and warmth can be shared and cherished.

The creation of JT Corner isn’t merely about a physical monument; it’s about preserving the spirit of a man who gave so much yet asked for nothing in return. It’s a part of our legacy as a community to remember those like JT who have touched our lives profoundly. By lending your support through this petition, you are helping to ensure that the City of Terrell understands how deeply this matters to us all.

Please sign and share this petition. Every signature counts and demonstrates to the City of Terrell the importance of JT’s legacy. Together, we can create a space that honors his memory and continue the kindness he spread throughout our community.
