Create bike trails with jumps in Wath Woods

Create bike trails with jumps in Wath Woods
The Issue
Over the past few months, I've had the opportunity to speak with more than 100 children and around 20 adults in our community, all of whom share a common dream: to have dedicated bike trails with jumps in Wath Woods. This would not only provide a safe and exciting recreational outlet for our youth but also foster a sense of community among biking enthusiasts of all ages.
Wath Woods is a beautiful, expansive area that remains underutilized for many of the activities that could enhance our lifestyles. Currently, there are limited options for safe and challenging biking activities in the area. Introducing bike trails with jumps would cater to the growing interest in biking, especially among young people, and help promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
According to a study by the Outdoor Foundation, outdoor recreational activities such as biking promote physical health, foster team spirit, and reduce stress. Communities that invest in recreational infrastructure see benefits that far outweigh the costs. In addition to public health, there are economic advantages too—bike trails attract visitors, which can boost local businesses.
We propose that the local council collaborate with community members, local biking clubs, and environmental experts to design and implement these trails in an eco-friendly manner. This collaborative approach ensures that the trails are both sustainable and meet the needs of their users.
By signing this petition, you're supporting a vision that aims to bring positive change to Wath Woods. We urge the local authorities to consider this project seriously, as it holds the potential to enrich our community and environment. Let's come together to make Wath Woods a haven for biking enthusiasts and a landmark for recreational development.
Please sign this petition to show your support for creating bike trails with jumps in Wath Woods. Let's make this dream a reality for our community.
