Create an axolotl emoji
The Issue
One day, I was singing the first line of "The Axolotl Song ("There's an axolotl on the pink stairs/is an axolotl s'posed to be there?")" by Doctor Waffles, in emoji and a realization hit me like a ton of bricks: there is no axolotl emoji! How could we lack such a vital symbol of this incredibly unique and charming species? It made me mad to see this adorable creature not having its rightful place on our emoji keyboard.
The axolotl is not just the cutest amphibian; it's a critically endangered species native to Mexico, renowned for its unique regenerative capabilities and adorable smile that has captured the hearts of people worldwide. Despite their popularity and significance, they are in desperate need of greater public awareness to help drive conservation efforts. Now more than ever, the axolotl needs our spotlight.
Introducing an axolotl emoji can be a powerful tool in raising awareness globally. Emojis are not just novel digital expressions; they are cultural icons that have a significant impact on discussions, be it in social media or personal conversations. An axolotl emoji would become a rallying point for conservationists, environmentalists, and axolotl lovers alike, reminding everyone of the urgent need to protect this fascinating creature.
The Unicode Consortium, which is responsible for approving emoji, can make this happen. They have the power to include an axolotl emoji in their next update, bringing attention to this lovely yet vulnerable species. Such a tiny addition to our digital vocabulary could translate into a big win for environmental education and advocacy.
We need your help to take this proposal to the Unicode Consortium and show them how much support the axolotl has. they say it has none. it dose.
By signing this petition, you’re not only advocating for a new emoji but also for the awareness and conservation of one of the cutest endangered species today. Join us in this fun yet meaningful endeavor. Let's give the axolotl the digital recognition it deserves and put it on the map to capture hearts and minds around the world!
Please sign this petition to urge the Unicode Consortium to create an axolotl emoji.
