Coach John Colosimo wasn’t just one of Utah’s most successful high school football coaches — he was a mentor, a teacher, a builder of character, and a pillar of faith. From his early days at Judge Memorial to nearly two decades at Juan Diego Catholic High School, John shaped not only championship teams, but the lives of the students he served.

He led with discipline, love, and wisdom — starting traditions like the post-game Rosary, coaching his son Gabe, mentoring students through personal struggles, and helping Juan Diego become a National Blue Ribbon School. His 235 career wins and two Hall of Fame inductions tell one story — but the lives he lifted tell an even greater one.

Now that he’s passed, it’s time to honor his impact in a lasting way.

We’re calling on Juan Diego Catholic High School and the Skaggs Catholic Center to establish the Coach John Colosimo Memorial Scholarship — a fund that supports students who embody his values of faith, leadership, and perseverance, whether they play sports or not.

Coach Colosimo gave everything he had to his students. Let’s give something back in his name.
