Create a Safe Walking Trail for Laurel Crossing

The Issue

Laurel Crossing in Chalfont is a community with 20+ homes—but within those homes live families, children, seniors, and individuals who long for the simple joy of walking outdoors, close to home.

Today, we have no access to any walking trail or green space. The only option is to walk on the sidewalks directly outside our homes. While they provide a minimal path for movement, they don’t offer a true opportunity to experience nature, unwind, or walk freely in a more open environment.

To reach the nearest green space, we have to get in a car and drive—but not everyone can. Our elderly residents, young children, and those without cars are left behind, unable to enjoy the natural experiences so many take for granted.

We are not asking for luxury.

We are asking for a lifeline—a small, safe walking trail through the open space near our community where families can walk, children can explore, and all residents can experience the mental and physical benefits of being outside.

Studies have shown that walking trails:

-Increase physical activity by up to 48%
- Reduce chronic health issues like obesity, diabetes, and heart disease
-Build stronger communities through shared public space

This isn’t just about wellness—it’s about dignity, inclusion, and basic quality of life.

We respectfully urge the Warrington Township Board of Supervisors to support the creation of a modest walking trail near Laurel Crossing. This small step would mean the world to our community.

Please sign and support this request. Help give our kids space to explore, and others a path to walk safely, and our entire community the chance to thrive together—close to home.
