Petitioning Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation in Washoe County Nevada and 1 other

Create a safe place for abandoned, neglected or abused animals.

In an area where animals are often abused, neglected, abandoned, poisoned or shot, more needs to be done within the community to provide a safe retreat. Animals are allowed to run at large, with no effort to locate owners to issue citations, especially with aggressive animals. Spaying and neutering is not on their priority list, so animals continue to reproduce unwanted litters, and those litters are often "disposed of" either by drowning, or taken into the desert and dumped off to fend for themselves. These animals are shot by pellet guns, hit by cars, poisoned, and little is done to find the culprit. I am petitioning to the Pyramid Lake Tribe to take these issues more seriously and to create a grant, place it in a non profit animal sanctuary that could be managed by caring volunteers on the Reservation. Respond to animal abuse or animal related complaints professionally. I personally, have had my dogs poisoned, and animals dropped off inside of my gated property on several occasions. Sign the petition to create a safe haven for abandoned and unwanted pets, and for stiff penalties for animal owners who allow dogs to run free, or have a visibly neglected animal.
