Create a ‘No Parking’ zone at the end of our cul-de-sac
The Issue
The residents of our neighborhood, respectfully request the implementation of a “No Parking” zone extending approximately 50 feet at the end of the cul-de-sac to improve safety for residents, children, drivers, and service vehicles. This would only remove ONE PARKING SPOT.
Currently, vehicles parked at the end of the cul-de-sac create unsafe and difficult conditions for larger vehicles, including garbage trucks, delivery trucks, moving trucks, and emergency vehicles attempting to safely turn around. Limited turning space often forces these vehicles too close to telephone poles, garbage cans, driveways, and parked cars.
Establishing a no parking area would provide several important benefits:
Improve the ability for large trucks and emergency vehicles to safely turn around
Reduce the risk of vehicles striking telephone poles, garbage cans, parked cars, or private property.
Prevent vehicles from blocking driveways at the end of the cul-de-sac
Increase visibility and safety for children playing outside.
Help reduce the likelihood of accidents involving basketballs, bikes, and neighborhood activity near parked vehicles
Importantly, this change would only eliminate one parking spot while greatly improving safety and accessibility for the entire cul-de-sac.
Our neighborhood is home to many families and children who regularly play outdoors. We respectfully ask the town to review this request and consider installing appropriate “No Parking” signage and curb markings to create a safer environment for everyone.
We urge the local council to consider this affordable yet highly effective solution to the ongoing issues we face. By signing this petition, you are supporting a safer, more accessible, and peaceful neighborhood for all residents. Let's make our community a better place to live. Please sign to endorse the establishment of a 'No Parking' zone at the end of our cul-de-sac.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
