Busy Railway Level crossings need widening to comply railway manual to ease traffic jam
The Issue
Due to manifold increase of vehicles in the last two decades, there is undue traffic jam in every town at Railway level crossings on the busy roads in view of deliberately kept narrow width in utter violation of Railway Manual (IRPWM) by negligent officials of NW Railway Zone and in other zones also.
Desired Relief-- Humble request for your support in increasing width and angle of very narrow Level Crossing Barriers on class-I roads of NWR in Rajasthan, Haryana of North western railway Zone ( esp. 175 L-xings in Bikaner Division and 1000 in whole NWR) having very narrow Level crossing barriers on class-I roads (as per IRC-39 as well as IRPWM) to keep minimum of 9M or road width plus 2.5M whichever is more and angle to be 80-85 degree.
What are class-I Roads as per Railway Manual---Class-I road as per para-4(i) of IRC-39 and Appendix 9/1 of IRPWM are NH, SH, important roads within municipal towns, roads in and around towns where rail and road traffic is heavy.
My two PG Portal complaints in this regard viz. MORLY/E/2019/13807 dt 29-8-2019 ,MORLY/E/2019/15099 dt 19/09/2019 have been closed immediately by the railway ministry. So Railway ministry is adamant to keep on narrow width of barriers to remain traffic obstacle despite huge increase of traffic.
Sign and share this petition with everyone you know- If all of us get together and speak up, we can get Railway Minister, Mr Piyush Goyal, to pay attention and prioritise a solution to this problem hitherto repeatedly ignored by Railway Ministry.
