Our littlest boy Lowndes was named after race car and V8 supercar champion Craig Lowndes. He will be turning 1 on the 1st December 2019, and together with close friends and Family, we are having a celebration. We are a family of 4, with a 3 year old son called Brock. Both our boys were premature babies, and both had complications that required medical treatment in The NICU at KIng Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth WA. 

Our Little Lowndes has had many issues, and at 4 weeks old, Lowndes contracted neonatal sepsis, in which we almost lost him. Neonatal sepsis is a type of neonatal infection and specifically refers to the presence in a newborn baby of a bacterial blood stream infection. Neonatal sepsis is the single most common cause of neonatal death in hospital as well as community in some countries. Neonatal sepsis is divided into two categories: early-onset sepsis (EOS) and late-onset sepsis (LOS). EOS refers to sepsis presenting in the first 7 days of life (although some refer to EOS as within the first 72 hours of life), with LOS referring to presentation of sepsis after 7 days (or 72 hours, depending on the system used) Our Lowndes was within a 24 period of losing his life, as he had LOS neonatal sepsis.

 Both our boys are a miracle, As we had major fertility issues. We are forever thankful and grateful they are here. As you can gather by our kids names, we are huge supporters and love all things V8 Supercars. Our 3 year old son Brock is completely obsessed with the V8 Supercars drivers and races. Our Aim here would be to get Craig Lowndes and his wife Lara to come help us celebrate Our boys 1st Birthday with family and friends.
