Habitat destruction and fragmentation for agriculture, urban development, mining and forestry has been the number one koala killer since Europeans ruled Australia. This is caused by the unabated impacts of climate change, which leads to more extreme droughts, heatwaves and bushfires. in NSW 11,153 hectors of koalas habitat have been destroyed and this personally brakes my heart, because since I was a kid koalas had been my favourite animal and when the wild fires where going on I felt dejected. Im also really confused how people can still be destroying koalas habitat after what they went through in the bush fires. I for one wouldn't be able to sleep at night knowing Im taking a native Australian animals home away. The koala is also so much more than a native Australian animal its an icon for the nation and people are treating them like there a tiny useless bug that no one cares about. thank you for reading what I had to say please sign the petition if you want to make a change for the better and save the koala.
