In Eastern Samar National Comprehensive High School, several inconveniences are experienced by students when coming to school; such are unsettling and bothersome to them. With the different types of weather experienced–be it the rain or the sun–there is no shade to protect us in going to our respective classrooms. In connection to this, students are mostly exposed to these hurdles making the travel to their classrooms more difficult.

 Nevertheless, having a covered-walk in school is vital for several reasons. First, it provides protection from the elements, such as rain and extreme heat. This can help students stay dry and comfortable while walking to and from classes or other activities. Second, a covered walk can provide a sense of safety and security for students, as it can serve as a barrier between the school and the outside world: this can help students feel more at ease and less vulnerable. Additionally, a covered walk can serve as a gathering place for students, providing a space to socialize and interact with one another during breaks or before and after classes. This can help create a sense of community and belonging within the school. Overall, having a covered-walk in school is an important feature that can enhance the safety, comfort, and community of the school environment.

We, the STEM-B Conway, want to act upon this matter by proposing a covered walk to be made at Senior High Academic Buildings that is connected to the entrance and exit gates. Our group aims to create a Change.org petition to help our goals raise awareness amongst the senior high students and the school’s administration to sign our petition.
