Help Create A Pedestrian Plaza At Zelzah and Chatsworth Streets!

Help Create A Pedestrian Plaza At Zelzah and Chatsworth Streets!
The Issue
In Granada Hills, the influx of food trucks has revitalized the community and brought much-needed foot traffic to local bricks-and-mortar businesses. As a result, we now have more shops, more cafes, and fewer empty storefronts than we had just five years ago.
But at present, there's not much space to sit down and eat that great food truck cuisine. And in the future, who knows what might happen? Food trucks may prove to be a flash in the pan. They might decide another neighborhood is more attractive. They might go away.
We want to encourage and build on that foot traffic with something that’s community based.
By replacing the redundant right turn lane at Chatsworth and Zelzah into a foot-friendly plaza, we'll have a central town square — a potential space for a Farmer’s Market, live music, arts, culture, a small street fair, or just spending time getting to know other people in our town. It’s a space that’s ours, and belongs to our community.
Let's keep vibrant street life going in downtown Granada Hills.
