Invest in a Dog Run at Rufus King Park!
Why this petition matters

As the area continues to grow in density, more animals (specifically dogs) utilize Jamaica's Rufus King Park. Rich in history and change, the current parks policies are not aligned with the volume. The city of NY and Borough of Queens invested $4million in more park rangers and no investment in keeping the park clean or safe for all who utilize it, including the animals. The dog parents of RKP would like Councilwoman Elect Nantasha Williams and Councilman Jim Gennaro to aid them in building an adequate dog run on the Jamaica Avenue side of Rufus King Park. It will aid in a cleaner, safer and adequate environment for all animals and their parents who frequent the park.
Currently, there are needles, liquor bottle caps, human feces, rat poison and more that have harmed dogs (we have receipts!) and Park rangers are laser-focused on summons and quotas (and borderline harassment). With many park going families who love and play with the dogs, this is a disservice to the ever-changing community and the heavily patron park must take the proper precautions to keep animals and humans alike safe.
