Nominate Mirvish Village as a Heritage Conservation District
The Issue
For over 45 years an enclave of art, culture and cuisine, Mirvish Village offers an out-of-the ordinary shopping and dining experience. Featured are many one of a kind vendors including specialty bookstores, vintage shops art galleries and contemporary fashions. Among the fine restaurants in the area are five with patios that are located on the quiet tree-lined picturesque Markham Street.
As well the Village is home to many artists who rent studio space in the rooms above the shops and restaurants.
Mirvish Village is anchored by Honest Ed’s, the landmark discount department store whose walls are lined with photographers of Toronto’s theatrical history and international celebrities, past and present. This world famous bargain center’s slogan for over half a century has been “There’s No Place…Like This Place…Anyplace!!!”
Mirvish Village is remarkable, interesting, unique and safe destination.
