Dear Cozy Powell fans and petition supporters, it's been a long time since I've posted the last update and many, many things have happened. First of all I would like to thank a lot of people who helped the cause in many different ways. Modern Drummer magazine and two great bass players, Rudy Sarzo and Glenn Hughes, have retweeted the news of the petition. Cozy Powell 4ever Blog (cozypowell4ever.blogspot.com/) and Rock Garage (http://www.rockgarage.it/) have mentioned the initiative on their pages. Darker Than Blue have dedicated an article to Cozy https://darkerthanblue.wordpress.com/2014/11/03/remembering-cozy/. And a special thanks to Andrew Kevin Fawn and the other guys of “Dance With The Devil: The Cozy Powell Story” for giving us a page on the site of the documentary: http://cozypowellfilm.com/plaque-4-cozy/. Many thanks to Matt Starr and Graham Bonnet for signing, and to the people of Cirencester for the well acceptance and partecipation to the initiative. And thanks to Paul Raymond and Bob Daisley for sharing the news on Facebook. A leaflet has been created to support the campaign and copies of it have been sent to Cirencester and to Mr Sean Feeley who distributed them around. Now we have two pages: on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Plaque4Cozy and on Twitter https://www.twitter.com/Plaque4Cozy. On May 18th I've been in Cirencester and met some Cozy's friends of the early days: Fred Lea and John Burgess, who played with Cozy in his first group (The Corals), and Christine Morris. They all are supporting the initiative and have helped so much speaking with the local authorities and keeping me informed. This is part of a recent e-mail from Mr Burgess which explains so well the various steps that have been done and has to be done: < ... It all went very smoothly and the stage we are at is: The plaque is to be placed at the Corn Hall, almost certainly at the entrance where it will be seen by most people. The owners of the Corn Hall have given their permission. The owners are a property development company called Wildmoor. Cirencester Civic Society have approved the proposal. The Civic Society is the body which has the final say on such things. Cirencester Town Council supported the proposal and consulted me and Frederick about appropriate wording for the plaque. Cirencester Town Council have now submitted a planning application to Cotswold District Council. Cotswold District Council is the planning authority. Receipt has been acknowledged and it will take about 5 weeks before their decision is known. ... > SO, PLEASE DON'T STOP SUPPORTING THE CAMPAIGN. SPREAD THE NEWS TO YOUR FRIENDS AND ASK THEM IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US. Thank you for your kind attention and support. See you when the next stept will become reality. Rossella A.
