Dear Supporters
Please object to the Planning Application by Leverhulme Estates to build a Care Village on the Green Belt at Hill Top Farm Thornton Hough – the closing date is THIS FRIDAY 29th January 2021
Leverhulme Estates has submitted a new planning application to create a Continuing Care Facility at Hilltop Farm at the gateway to Thornton Hough. The proposal is for the partial retention and conversion of the existing historic farm buildings, partial demolition of modern existing buildings and erection of a new build development, for a Close Care Retirement Community which will comprise a 60 bed care home, 23 close care apartments and 6 assisted living units ( as opposed to 170 units in previous application), with associated café, shop and restaurant facilities. A wellness suite is created providing a Fitness Studio/Garden Room, Beauty and Hair Salon, Therapy/Treatment Rooms and an allocated space for GP or Dentistry services. Even with the scaled back development the heart of the village population could increase by around 36%.
This is inappropriate development on the Green Belt and will change the character of Thornton Hough and the surrounding area for ever.
An Easy Guide to objecting can be found on the Thornton Hough Community Trusts Website – along with a petition.
