We recognise that some street performance can be loud and disruptive but the way forward is to have structured communication with all parties to find workable solutions. Edinburgh Council have chosen not to do this and have put up their own signs that have no basis in law. Choosing to perform in the street is not illegal and has deep historic and cultural roots. Edinburgh is a City with such a great Arts culture it should not be treating artists in this way. This petition is a way to show them that.
