The native Water Gum is the best choice for Military Rd no question but the council have planted Tulip trees to replace the dead Plane Trees? Tulip trees are very destructive they will damage cars, buildings, stain and lift pavers, cause slip hazards, and they are also one of the worst trees in the world for damaging sewer and storm water pipes and they are prone to being blown over and branches breaking off in windy areas err like Military Rd Neutral Bay 😬and prone to lightning strikes. In a nutshell they should not be planted any closer than 10m from any structure. I have contacted Mayor Zoe Baker to have them removed and replaced with Water Gum immediately!
